We are taught to not talk about politics and religion for fear of offending each other, and it leaves the public with the inability to critically engage with a problem and discuss it. When complex issues are brought to face, they are instinctively addressed with a desire for drastic measures. Problems need to be solved quickly and extremely; justice should be swift and public. More often than not the issue is left unresolved or worsened, and the entire effort is considered futile. Apathy is mistaken for empathy as the original objective is abandoned and left to another newcomer to solve.
